This photo was taken in the winter of 2023 in Yosemite. It was my first trip there and I wanted to visit before I moved from CA to NC. When I awoke that morning, it was raining. I almost decided not to go out and shoot that day, but I was there to photograph, so I packed up my gear and hit the road. I enjoyed a beautiful, brisk, hour long drive up the mountain and arrived at the location. This is a famous spot in Yosemite, but I didn't care. The weather was epic and I was blown away by the view. I surveyed the scene, set up my tripod, and composed this shot. Of all the photos I took that morning, this was my first and favorite. I remember chatting with another photographer that morning. He mentioned that this was his 45th time in Yosemite and got up at 2am to drive from Santa Cruz. I told him this was my first time and his mouthed dropped open. He could not believe it. It was a beautiful morning and I am so appreciative for this experience. I shot this on my Fugi X-T5, 50-140 XFTelephoto 2.8 and my manfrotto tripod. Other than my processing and color grade, nothing else was added to this scene. This is what mother nature offered that morning.
