Primarily covering events and headshots, this year I wanted to venture out and capture something different. This image was taken for a cheer athlete that came in for a studio session. After a series of jumping shots which were off the background, I switched the set and put up 2 flashes with gels to accent the color of the uniform. Sprayed some haze to give it a smoke effect and used a studio strobe as the main. Camera settings were 1/100s f20 ISO400

Post processing I added some contrast, vibrance, a bit of a crop, slight vignette, and a catchlight on the left eye to match the right.

This is my best image for this year because it captures the confidence of the athlete and I love how the colors all came together.
