Living in North Dakota has some perks. Like being far enough north that when there is a chance of seeing the aurora borealis you just have to drive out of town a little ways to find sufficiently dark skies. Except on May 8th the northern lights were so strong that they were even visible in town. This image was taken roughly 20 minutes north of Fargo, ND and while the camera is looking nearly straight up, I had to adjust the shot so that it is looking towards more to the south, instead of north, to show the vibrant lights. Taken on a Nikon Z9 and Sigma 14-24 at 14mm.

Hey Max, this reminds me of that night in May here in Donegal. I was driving home from a game and had my "sports" kit with me. Not ideal for capturing the aurora, no tripod, and I'm starting to feel disappointed before I even try a few shots. I use a Nikon 24mm f/2.8 for behind-the-goal shots and set up a Nikon D5 on the roof of the car, bedded on a folded coat, using the self-timer. Results were not too bad. Then I pulled out the PocketWizards and held one in my hand to trigger the camera on top of the car. That's when the fun started. I was able to position the camera in random positions on walls, on the ground etc and take remote shots. Just like this, the corona was overhead and the sight was out of this world. Glad you got to capture it :)
