Super Moon of October 17th, 2024. Taken from the Boylan Street Bridge in Raleigh, North Carolina.
I used 2 exposures to create this. When the sun was setting there was some beautiful light reflecting off of the windows of the building. I used an exposure for that and then one for the moon when it was in place. These shots were also taken at 2 different focal lengths. I was 150mm for the building shot and 600mm for the moon. And obviously I was focused on the building for that shot and focused on the moon for it's shot.
Full disclosure I used photoshop to very slightly enhance the size of the moon. I also moved the moon slightly as it was above the crane. Photopills lied to me and said the moon would be as it is in my photo but it was not. So I made it how I envisioned it would be.
I don't know if the fact that I used photoshop to make this exactly how I wanted takes away from the shot or not. That's for others to decide I guess. But, I got a lot of hate on Reddit for this shot so I'm sure I'll get a ton of 1 star votes here too. My selections in PS could've been better. It's a little sloppy on the overlap of the crane/moon. But you can only really notice if you're pixel peeping so f'it. And all my haters for this image can suck it.
Merry Christmas...ya filthy animals.
