2.85 - "Solid"

My name is Specialist Charlie Clark. I create content for and help manage the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade (25th CAB) social media pages. This photo was taken from the front seat of a UH-60 Blackhawk assigned to Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment (3-25). I was facing the same way as the Soldier in the photo, so I was shooting this blind with one hand on the camera as it was out the side of the helicopter. This photo shows an exhausted infantry Soldier assigned to 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division looking out of the Blackhawk after the Soldier and his squad conducted live fire training. The training included setting and detonating a claymore mine, sprinting through the jungle while firing live rounds from their M4 rifles. The squad then ran to the 3-25 Blackhawk after it fired live rounds from an M240 machine gun to provide covering fire for the Soldiers then we all flew to a rally point to continue training. I loved this photo because it showcases the contrast of what Soldiers look like after some intense training and the natural beauty of Oahu, Hawaii where we are stationed. I used my Sony A7R4 with a Sony 18 - 105 f/4 lens. I believe the photo was shot around f/4, iso 100, and 1/400th shutter speed.
