Some time ago, I began experimenting with macro videography. My goal was to create otherworldly scenes that I could incorporate into my short films.
I started by experimenting with everything I had in my fridge. Before long, I became a regular at my local art store, picking up different inks and oils to test. It was an amazing feeling to "unlock" new liquid combinations and discover completely unique interactions. The hardest part in all of this was figuring out the right combinations of liquids to achieve the results I wanted. After that, the biggest challenges were spotting even the tiniest dust particles that could ruin a scene and keeping the focus sharp.
My experiments are ongoing, and I feel like this is a rabbit hole I’ll be exploring for a long time. If you're interested in seeing more, you can find a few videos on my YouTube channel @teemuandreas.
