This pic was taken in Charleston SC. On this night there was haze which allowed me to the take the pic into the setting sun and still be able to bring out some detail in the roof of the dock head. There were a lot of ibis' flying towards their evening resting place. So I took a lot of pics of the birds near the sun but none of them flew in front of the sun. I ended up compositing a bird in the setting sun with birds ahead and behind. When I took the shot I remembered that this scene had the same feel as the cover pic for the surfing movie, the 'Endless Summer'.
