This image was the cover shot for an edition of Façon - an Australian fashion magazine. It was shot on a Sony A7R III using a Sony 24-105 F4 G lens.
The initial colour and exposure correction and balancing was done in Adobe Lightroom and light retouching was completed by a retouch artist in Adobe Photoshop.
It was early morning, this was the only time we could access the site, and I was shooting into the sun. The model was lit using a Godox AD600 pro.
The shot was difficult because the location was in an industrial area in a yard where mobile cranes were parked. The model was wearing a very valuable hand-sewn gown by a well known Australian designer. The ground was wet and muddy so we had to create a path using drop sheets from a site shed, where the model would dress, to the crane we would use to lift the model.
It was a difficult shot because we had to lift a model in a valuable gown, wearing high heels on the hook of a crane. The model was execptional.
There was also a light breeze, the timing of the shot was also difficult as I had find the perfect moment when the model was posing as required by the creative director and the breeze caught the gown in just the right way.
A cropped version of the image was used as the cover shot for the magazine, it worked perfectly with the magazine mast head and other cover graphics.
