Stillness in the Grid
This photo was taken during a quiet weekday afternoon outside the Grande Arche de la Défense in Paris. I was struck by the geometric perfection of the tiled wall and how it contrasted so starkly with the human figure sitting alone on the stairs. I used my Fujifilm XE-4 with 27mm lens, which is my go-to camera for urban minimalism. Composition was the biggest challenge. I wanted the shot to feel both monumental and intimate. To achieve that, I waited for someone to sit in just the right spot on the steps, which took patience. I also had to align the grid on the wall perfectly to preserve the symmetry without distortion as much as possible (later fine tuned in lightroom).
