The Sentinel

Up in the Steens Wilderness Area in Oregon there are many opportunities for a photograph, whether vistas, lakes, wild horses or in this case an isolated tree.

As I was hiking I found this small high survivor perched 1600 ft above Little Blitzen river.

This shot required getting close to the edge and lay on the ground to isolate the tree from the background.
