Morning in Cappadocia. Every morning weather permitting, 100 or so balloons lift off, just before dawn so they can be in the air for sunrise. It is a magical experience to watch. Fortunately we were in the area for 3 days. Got up every day but this was the only launch day. So persistence pays and you have to be there early. I am traveling more with a tripod now that I have a carbon fiber Neewer, which was essential. The trick is to get a long enough exposure to get enough light, but short enough to stop motion blur. Because there is a lot of activity, and it seemed like it went fast. So you have to be prepared, scout out a location before hand and have thoughts in mind about composition. And be prepared to move! Because you don't know for sure who will be lifting off from exactly where.
