This frame was taken on a rainy wedding day. About two meters behind the couple, I placed a speedlight wrapped in a sandwich bag to protect it from the rain. The flash was aimed directly at the umbrella with the zoom set to 24mm, making the raindrops sparkle across the scene. Shot at 24mm · f/2.8 · 1/160s · ISO 100, the biggest challenge was synchronizing the flash with the falling rain while keeping the couple’s moment natural and romantic. In post-production, I only blurred the water in the foreground to enhance the atmosphere. This image proves that even rain can create pure magic.
