'Radiant Conch' is an intentional camera movement image of a partially broken sun-bleached conch shell. The image was made by placing the shell on a black background (my hoodie) that was close to a window illuminated with indirect natural light late in the day. The image was made during my recent visit to Holden beach, NC. The challenge in making the image was to get rays emanating from the conch in all directions while maintaining shadows that were not too dark on the inner parts of the shell. This required approximately 100 shots using a 'zoom out' ICM technique before I got it the way it is seen here. Post-processing involved adjusting the highlights and shadows in Adobe camera raw followed by minimal sharpening.
