I live in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans. I was walking near our house with my 7 year old son and this dance troupe practicing for Mardi Gras came upon us.

I pulled my phone out and snapped a few pictures. I forgot about the photos until recently going through pics.

I was taken aback by this lucky capture.

To my eye is at least 2 things at once.

The vitality of people jumping & marching down the street.

On the other hand, the photo's lines are geometric and straight. The sun spear, the sidewalk line, the shadows cast on the street.

A contrast but a good one for me.
