"The Meltdown"
My wife and son Nolan — tail end of a meltdown, Tilden Regional Park, East Bay. Neither of them wanted a camera in their faces. I shot it anyway with the Canon 7D.
She's on the pavement at his level, working the backpack zipper, holding his gaze. He's still coming down. It's an ordinary moment that most parents would rather forget.
Converted to black and white because color wasn't doing anything for it. The story was already there.
