Philip Bloom Will Blow Your Mind with this Sony a7S Video

I've personally covered the Sony a7S a lot here at Fstoppers, full disclosure: I'm in love with the idea of this camera. As a diehard D700 user (though I've since retired it) I love the idea of a high-ISO somewhat low-res monster. All the reviews and sample images / video I've seen of this camera have absolutley blown me away, this video is no different. Check out Philip Bloom pushing the a7S to its limits in this video.

If you liked what you saw review our previous a7S coverage here

Be sure to check out Philip's blog post for his incredible review of this awesome camera.

Really excited to get this in my hands this week.

This is really intense. The whole mirror less thing is really starting to peak my interest more and more...

Amazing! I wish it was higher than 12.2 MP but it's still very attractive! Pretty good price too....

Ehhhhhh they make game consoles...... Its a cool video.. I think this is the first of its kind, real exciting stuff here, but give it a year or two and i bet things will be perfected. Keep in mind PB is the man and has a lot of experience in color grading.... many people don't so their results might be so so... I'll wait till I hear more reviews. Jaron Schneider message me up with your review. Interested in hearing your take on it.

Yeah. They also make movies.

Sony Pictures.

Hmm. Nikon better step it up

Hmmm i just looked into the sky at the end of this video and there are only few stars ... and in "A Timelapse Video That Will "Move" You Like No Other" there are plenty of them ........ so where is the trick in this camera so you can see like in day but not stars ...?

you must understand that this is England and clear skies are not that common hence you can only see a few through the broken clouds. Look at the sky in the daytime to see how clear it was.

Ok this can be the problem ....please do also one shot with clear sky if you can ..... i think it will be interesting when you can see moving people with this type of background .....

Just me or is there something moving WAY faster than an airplane from around 3:59 to about 4:06 , from mid-left to upper left of the frame? Planes don't move that fast in relation to the distance the camera is from the object. Maybe I need more coffee.

+1 Didn't see that the first time. I think you're on to something lol.

You definitely didn't imagine it - but I'm afraid it's nothing exciting. Just a satellite whizzing past! They're occasionally visible to the human eye, although it depends on angles, brightness, time of day (night) and so on.

Incredible low light performance though. If only it wasn't made by Sony...! (Darn lens system investments)

I think I heard of adaptors to both Nikon and Canon with full lens control.

it;s seagull! i promise you. I saw quite a lot of them in the rushes. All very similar movement.

It's the man himself! I don't know if I can take your word for it, Philip. Sounds like a cover-up to me. Welcome to the new site, keep up the great work!

I'm pretty sure it's a bird.

it is indeed. it's a seagull. look really closely. it's got wings!

Agree with last post... I was thinking UFO... then coffee .. then who knows :p

Side note :) It was shot with a Sigma 50mm ART 1.4 - maybe the real star :)

Definitely impressed, just wish it could shoot 4k internally and/or 10bit out like the GH4. If it did both Sony could have my credit card!

We need this High Iso performance on the FS700.

Sony is an amazing company!
