Ted Grant (Canadian photojournalist) sums it up nicely for me.

“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”

― Ted Grant

So, it depends on what you want to convey more. Both are lovely edits for a profound composition by the way. Thanks for sharing.

Mark Chaves that is such a great quote, thank you for that!

I really like both, but I think I prefer the color. This is a powerful photo, to me. Great job.

Personally I'm a sucker for B&W and virtually all my street shots are taken/edited as such. What I'm trying to say here is that I am surely a bit biased :) However from my experience B&W street is easier when it comes to composition. I don't have to take into consideration countless elements in the frame that could potentially distract the viewer. I simply focus on what I want to show and compose the frame.
Your example is actually very interesting because I can see where color is providing additional impact. The red, big fonts on the sign cannot be missed by the viewer and provide great contrast with the unlucky man.

A most intimate and powerful story Yaniv. Personally I feel that both treatments work wonderfully but for some reason I am more drawn to the colour than the B&W...which is weird because normally I'd be drawn to the B&W. Either way, a very strong statement! Thank you.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, it was very illuminating
