Yesterday I took a few headshots for my girlfriend and I did a few things differently than I have in the past. I brought the camera down a little lower and I also tried some new techniques for retouching her hair. I got a few really useful critiques last time I shared a set and I'm looking forward to getting some more tips I can learn from!
Solid shots overall. Strike me as a tad low contrast like you are getting blow back from your white background. I am assuming you have some lights blasting your background for it to go pure white?
I would also say you lighting looks pretty flat which is not necessarily a bad thing for a high key shot like this. I think some more directional front lighting with a tad more contrast would be helpful.
Shot 1 her body is turned to the right but her head is more pointed to the left. It's a bit odd like she is looking over her shoulder. I would keep that head straight on or in the direction of her body - so more to the right - people tend to look forward not over their back.
Once again solid overall. Take my comments with a grain of salt as they are merely nitpicking opinions of my own - not gospel.
Thanks so much for the feedback man! I did use a light to make the background pure white. However, it wasn't very bright and I had to do some work in photoshop to clean it up a bit. but I do see what you're saying. And what's funny is that the last time I posted some headshots to be critiqued, someone said it looked like I shot too high. Maybe I'm dialing it in. lol Thanks again for your insight!
