How to Edit a Landscape Photo in Lightroom

While Photoshop remains the place where the most complex and intricate edits are done, Lightroom has become far more capable in recent iterations, and you can now finish many photos without ever leaving the program. This excellent video tutorial features an experienced landscape photographer sharing how to edit photos from start to finish in Lightroom.

Coming to you from Mike Smith, this great video tutorial will show you how to edit landscape photos from start to finish in Lightroom. If you have not explored Lightroom's new color-editing and masking tools, you should really give them a shot. In particular, the AI masking features are quite robust and versatile and can save a ton of time in edits. I have found the AI sky selection especially helpful, as it allows me to easily make adjustments even when dealing with a complex, uneven horizon or trees with thousands of leaves getting in the way of a straightforward edit. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Smith.

Being myself an amateur, loving landscapes.
I started with Lightroom, added Nik Collection to the kit.. tried Luminar…
And the only software that talks to me is Photoshop. Saying to me : hey, forget sliders. Let’s do this properly.
I still suck in Photoshop, TK Panel is a help.. but even if I could get better photos in Lightroom… I’m not going back. I’m loving the journey.
