Rushing Waters at Dusk

Another image from a quick stop in Gerês, captured almost by chance.

We were already on our way back home, thinking our short escape was over, when we stumbled upon this waterfall hidden beside the road.
The flow was powerful, the sound of the water echoing loudly as it crashed against the surrounding rocks. Light was fading fast, so there was no time to hesitate. I stepped straight into the river, right into the current, carefully making my way closer to the rocks in the foreground.

From there, I found the composition I was looking for: small cascades spilling over the rocks at my feet, leading the eye towards the main waterfall roaring just behind them. It was one of those moments where everything happens quickly — instinct, positioning, timing — before the light disappears completely.

Places like this leave you wanting more.
I already know I’ll be back.
