Evening Hummingbird - Avila Beach - California

600mm · f/6.3 · 1/640 sec. · ISO 25600

There is a hill above the promenade in Avila Beach, California that grants an amazing view over Port San Luis. From here you can look out of the open ocean, the harbor protected by the breakwater, the beach, and the piers. We had missed the sunset, but there was still a bit of light. I noticed some movement at a flowering bush behind where we had stopped, thinking there were several hummingbirds feeding I grabbed my camera to try and capture the scene. To my surprise they were not all hummingbirds, but one hummingbird and two hummingbird moths. The hummingbird granted me a "posed" shot as it lit upon a stem, perhaps to sleep the night away.
I used ON1 for noise reduction, and Capture One 23 for crop and image tuning.
