Aspen Forest, Buffalo Pass, Colorado

We were in the mountains above Steamboat Springs in Colorado, about this time of the year. I watch for patterns and patterns that contrast with each other. In this case the vertical patterns of the aspens against the angular patterns of the downward slopes and the single downed aspen set at an angle, and the round shapes of the tree canopies. I am leaving for that area tomorrow and am looking forward to the solitude of the mountains and being in God's Cathedral of the Mountains. I am reminded of the Psalm of David where he says "I will look to the Mountains, from which comes my strength". Mountains are traditionally thought of as a place where Heaven and Earth meet together. Sounds good to me.
