The Draw

Sunrise into an ice arch in the Yukon. There was only a brief 5 minute window where the sun was shining directly into the cave so it was a rush to get the focus stack and vertical pano done in time for a couple different comps. I hiked out the night before to attempt a sunset shot, but the wind was so strong I couldn't make it up the tail end of the hike. I hiked back down the trail about 1.5 miles to setup my tent (3 different attempts were thwarted by the wind). I got about an hour of sleep before packing up and heading back up to the cave. I forced my way through the wind gusts just in time to get setup for this memorable moment. Nature fought me hard to get this one. I lost for sunset, but won for sunrise. I guess we'll call this one a draw.
