emerge

I'm an avid cave diver and had the opportunity to spend time exploring some new (to me) cenotes in Mexico. As soon as I saw the formations in this one, I knew exactly the look I wanted to photograph in here. The middle of the tunnel has a halocline which mixes into a difficult to see through haze as you swim through it. It also captures light and refracts it in unique ways. Using an underwater strobe as a backlight, I was able to capture an ethereal look with the diver emerging from the haze.
