Burn it Down

Exploring ice caves never gets old. I took some hip waders with me to explore a new section of this cave that had recently opened up and I was curious how far it pushed on the other side of the water. I set my camera up and though it would look cool to light a flare while standing in the water. The burning magnesium smoked out the room after a short period since there wasn't a lot of airflow, but I was able to get a couple shots before it smoked out completely. The moving smoke added some really interesting texture and the heavy reds gave an otherworldly feel to the normally overwhelming blues that exist in these caves.
