The northern lights are mesmerizing. Enough said. I hiked 5 hours up to the summit of a mountain with the plan to shoot the lights over the peaks and the glacier below. As the sun set, the clouds rolled in. Lame. Around 1:30 the sky cleared above me and I watched (and photographed) the most intense display I've seen in southeast Alaska. Around 4 am the brightest spots shot through the sky and then the clouds rolled back in. Truly amazing. This is a 20 image multi-row panoramic.
