Promotional beauty shot of violinist Lisa Dodakian in a backless black gown taken at a fallen tree on my Catskills Mountain area property. I had conceived this shot more than a year before and was waiting for an opportunity to take a beautiful subject into the woods to shoot against a tree that had fallen over but remained in a diagonal position.
I brought out my battery power Profoto AcuteB pack and head with a large Plume Wafer soft box as the only lighting in the shot. I allowed a little ambient in the shot to show the lush foliage.
On this photoshoot the lovely subject changed into 3 black gowns to help create a small fashion editorial published in Artell's Magazine.
