See From Start to Finish How This Haunting Composite Was Made

One of the things I really love about Photoshop is the fact that there is invariably more than one way to achieve a particular effect in the editing software. For this reason, it's hard to get tired of seeing other people's workflows as you'll always find someone doing something which you haven't thought of before.

Ukrainian photoartist Anya Anti creates wonderfully dark portraits loaded with symbolism and her latest piece is no exception. "Butterflies in My Stomach" is a self-portrait which Anti produced with the help of a stand in skeleton and some clever compositing techniques to accomplish the impressive final result.

The time-lapse featured is a fascinating insight into Anti's process from start to finish. It's inspiring to see all the individual components coming together on screen as she retouches in double quick time. The use of a flesh colored t-shirt really is a stroke of genius as it not only is a great stand in for torn skin, but it must have dramatically reduced the amount of Photoshop required to sell the effect to the viewer.

For more inspiration check out Anti's website and Instagram and be sure to watch the time-lapse to see how the magic was performed.

Apparently 3.5 hours worth of post. Gotta be honest I often do much more than that! Crazy I know...

That was amazing. Been following her a while on IG, but didn't know she was posting stuff like this on YouTube.
