Few months back we featured the incredible and unique rock climbing photos of Seattle-based photographer Kiliii Fish. This week Kiliii finished his newest photo series he worked on for a long time - this time survival was the theme. The results? Nothing short of epic. In this interview he explains the whole process and reveals how he shot and edited it all.

On a recent visit to my hometown, a friend of a friend asked if I would be able to photograph some inventory for her online art business. Photographer Erik Christian, based in Hudson Valley, NY, created athletic portraits using continuous lights and strobes. Every time a photographer puts his or her work on display, whether in a gallery, online, at a local cafe or wherever, it gives viewers a glimpse of what that photographer saw when they made the shot. But it's just a moment, a flash of time captured in ones and zeroes, then printed or shared on social media. It doesn't, however, tell the entire story of how the photographer made the image.

Recently, I've gotten into surfing. I'm quite possibly the worst surfer in the world, but through surfing, I met some great, artistic friends. I acted as the DP on a super fun all-women's surf film this summer. I had no idea how to shoot surfers, so it was a huge learning experience. Now that I know a little bit more about it (and I stress the "little bit more"), I thought I would try and shoot a personal project just for fun to test out an artsy-fartsy idea.
