2.2 - "Needs Work"

First time trying to capture the milky way. Photo captured on a small village in Greece.

I would edit out the lights at the bottom and I would have taken more shots "around" the milky way to make it "breathe" a little more. Still a very cool shot. 3 stars.

This image currently sits at 2.19! Really? That low? Maybe I'm just a MW fan boy. But, this image deserves the 4 I gave it. Especially for a first attempt. Do you recall your settings?

Thanks a lot.
Settings:
Focal lenth: 17mm
Aperture: f/2.8
Shutter speed: 15 secs
ISO: 3200
Shot on Nikon D5300 with Sigma 17-50 f2.8

I've been experimenting with the 500 Rule with my Milky Way attempts. But, I've found the results a bit too noisy. It seems that your exposure time was about half that of what the 500-Rule would recommend. Did you do this for noise reduction?

Yes i used the 500 rule but i am on a APS-C sensor, so i have to adjust to that. So: 500/(17*1,5)= 19 secs. so i went for 15secs. Iso settings were just what seemed to me as right by judging the backscreen result.
