Walking out to the end of the breakwater to catch the rising sun, a rogue wave splashed over the wall. I quickly raised my camera and fired a burst. The shot was lucky in two ways. First, the shutter speed dial spun against my jacket as I rose the camera giving an unintentional 1/8000 sec shutter speed. This froze the water droplets in mid air. Secondly , I was lucky not to destroy my new Nikon D 500 with the ocean water. The camera was fine. I got drenched.
