I took this photo with a KowaSix (a 2¼ square SLR) in the early 1980s. I bought it at Central Camera in Chicago about ten years earlier. At that time, it was dubbed to be the "Poor Man's Hasselblad." I began taking photos in the early 60s when my dad bought a Pentax Spotmatic.
This photo was taken on a foggy, early morning on the edge of Green Lake just north of Ellsworth, Maine. As you can see, there was no wind and the lake was as smooth as glass. I did not develop or print this shot. At that time I mostly shot B&W with Tri-X film. When I was in my 20s, I would set up a temp darkroom in my apartment kitchen. Only in the last few years have I regained an interest in photography. I scanned about 500 negatives and prints that I never could throw away and I took a class to learn the basics of using Photoshop! This photo was one of my favorites. Luckily, I now have access to a digital lab with Epson 900 and 9000 printers.
I bought a Fuji X100V a couple of years ago and I'm thinking about stepping up to something with a full-frame sensor.
