Sometimes you arrive at images in unexpected places. In this case this was taken on my first digital camera, a sigma dp2 (already far past its prime when I bought it). It was taken as I was waylaid by car trouble on the way home on a 1000mi road trip. I was stranded in an unfamiliar town with not much to do but wander around with my little camera to find pretty things to take photos of until my car was fixed, and this tree certainly provided! The green canopy was so welcoming that I just had to try and capture its expanse as best I could. Wide open was pretty much the only way to take images with anything but direct sunlight available on that camera, and Sigma's software that still looks and acts like it was released specifically for the dp2 (which forgets the date and thinks its 2009 every time you swap the battery). In this case all the processing was done in Sigma Photo Pro and I didn't feel the need to do further edits elsewhere.
