1.78 - "Needs Work"

Taken on a miserably wet and cold November day at Disneyland, White Rabbit is a recessed wall sculpture near the backside of the Alice in Wonderland attraction (towards the restrooms). A brief respite in the downpours, but under a grey sky, allowed me to take this shot with an old point and shoot in my collection. Used was a Kodak EasyShare Z950 from about 2009 ... to which I'd added a small "hack/mod" consisting of a flash trigger behind a shield affixed to the built-in flash unit, to set off a remote speedlight. This worked primarily because the camera is a CCD sensor, so no timing/duration issues. All settings used were manual, on both units. Post processing included some minor cropping, saturation and contrast adjustments, sharpening and maybe a little vignetting added.

(I took this on my trip as I was not keen on carrying my DSLR kit(s) while trying to enjoy the park and all... the weather had different plans for me, so enjoyment was pretty much out of the question regardless. We went back to the hotel early, soaked and cold, and ordered pizza. The next day was much better however, so the trip didn't turn out a complete waste.)

Camera, as described on a forum (quote copied below):
Ergonomically, the 12MP Kodak EasyShare Z950 is reminiscent of compact digital cameras of a generation or two ago. This shouldn't be taken as a criticism though - it is nice to see a camera with a bit of meat on it these days, and to some photographers, a heavier camera is a nicer one to hold. It is always good to see 'true' manual control on a camera of this type, and the Z950's full complement of PASM exposure modes represents an unusual amount of versatility which will no doubt appeal to experienced photographers and ambitious beginners. Pixel-level detail is impressively high throughout the zoom range, and although image quality drops off higher up the ISO sensitivity scale, the Z950 still holds its own against more expensive competitors. Our biggest problems with the Z950 are its relatively restrictive zoom range, of 35-350mm (equivalent) and its sub-par LCD screen.
