It was very cold January 2015 and I was driving home past a lake in Burgas. The oil refinery was pouring out smoke and I set up my tripod by the side of the road with my Canon 100D, together with a Canon 75-300mm zoom. I hadn't had much success with landscape photos in colour and this RAW shot really excited me when I played around in Lightroom and switched to B&W things really popped. Mostly using the gradient tool to get the dark contrast in the sky. I was thinking about Ansel Adams in terms of his high contrast image Moonrise, Hernandez.
