I took this photo in 1985 on a street corner in Seattle, Washington. I used a Nikon FM 35mm camera with a 50mm lens and Kodak Gold 200 film. I scanned the negative, converted it to a JPG, and did some minor retouching in Photoshop. This is one of my first images taken in the “street photography” genre. The challenge for me was the uncomfortable feeling of taking a photo of a person without their permission. With the advent of cell phone cameras, taking this type of photo is much easier today. I abandoned film several years ago and now shoot with a Nikon D-850 and Fuji XT-20.
