Like most of my photos this was taken with a Sony A7r and the 85mm f1.8. While the A7r has excellent image quality, the AF was always a pain and the color grading was also funky, giving people a orange tan very often, all of which had to be dealt with to make images usable.
I took the opportunity when a slit of light came in through a studio window at the end of the session. Despite the full frame I felt that the noise in most of the older models of the A7 was never particularly aesthetic, so when given a chance I would try adding some like the one in this image. Still, lowlight performance was great as this was taken with ISO 100 at f8.
