While walking along the bay in Orange Beach, I saw a group of highschoolers silhouetted against the sunset, taking turns jumping from a bridge support into the water below. The timing, the light, it all came together for one of those rare, unplanned moments.
One of the kids approached me after I took the shot. He said they were graduating next week, and this was their last time together before life pulled them in different directions. I showed him the photo, but before I could get his info to send it, he ran back to join his friends.
It reminded me of a time when summer felt endless, and everything important fit into one evening with the people you grew up with.
