This shot was taken at the end of a photo meetup at Lake Acworth, Georgia, when everyone had loosened up and the models were finally ready to wade into the water and get their hair wet. The light was fading, but just enough remained to catch this quiet, powerful moment.
I used a Sony a7IV with a Sigma 135mm f/1.8, wide open, to isolate her against the soft ripples of the lake. The black and white edit felt right, it let her expression and the texture of the water take center stage without distraction.
