This is a special photo for me, because all the elements in in aligned perfectly. My initial idea was to get the sailboat and seagull aligned between the two boulders, which required some waiting. Then came the person in the kayak, which I tried to time right to include in the composition. Then another seagull landed on the left boulder, at which point I pressed the shutter button. It was during editing that I discovered the two extra birds in front of the left boulder. It all balances out nicely. It's a once in a lifetime photo, no one will ever capture anything remotely similar.
Editing: mainly autocorrections in Lightroom, some color grading to get cleaner blue/orange tones.
Here is the kicker: technically it's a bad photo, when you pixel peep. Pixels are all over the place. You have to zoom out to enjoy the photo. I decided not to try and fix it. It's as captured, flaws and all.
