The camera used was a Lumix G3, and it was shot handheld with ambient light in a mountainous area in Mallorca. It was during a hike with a photography group that I was struck by the rock wall and the light streaming in from above. I decided to investigate the wall until I found a plant growing in the middle of nowhere, against all odds. It seemed to me a powerful metaphor for the fact that "life finds a way despite the harsh conditions."
