This image was shot as part of a personal project focused on trail running with the goal of shooting in golden hour light in the alpine of the Coast Mountains in British Columbia, Canada.
I shot this image at 179mm as I wanted to get the compression of the longer focal length. This visually compressed the runner and the background mountains. However shot at that tight of a focal length I wasn't able to get the entire view I was looking for. I shot the running relatively tight on the athlete, and after I felt I had the exact frame I wanted, I shot plates of the surrounding mountains and foreground rocks. I then stitched these together in post as a panorama, to get both the compression of the longer focal length, and the wide expanse of the mountains.
This was shot using natural light.
