I often bring my camera on walks to see what interesting moments I can capture. But for this photo, I had a specific shot in mind. I had scouted the location earlier and knew the sunset would line up with the horizon in a way that would cast a warm glow on the church. When I arrived, the sun was positioned perfectly at the corner where the church meets the horizon, creating the potential for a beautiful sun star. In hindsight, maybe a wider frame would've been better and created some scale, but the surrounding area doesn't work for that. I’m happy with how it turned out—especially because it closely matches the image I had envisioned.
