I was taking a detour in Central Park since a movie was being filmed as Bethesda Fountain. I took a route I'm not used to, and saw a family of ducks by a tree. I stooped low to get a shot of them, then this sweet little girl entered the frame just looking at them. She was so excited and pulled at her dress in a sort of curtsey. I just knew I had to make her my subject- and she completely stole the scene! This is one of my favorites :)
This was taken on Fujifilm XM5 with a Viltrox 28mm f/4.5 lens on autofocus. This was about 1pm EST so the light was quite soft since it was pretty humid, and trees gave great natural shadows.
I think this is an outstanding picture, it says so much and there's so much to observe and appreciate. It feels like a memory but that you're right there experiencing the past. I'd love to compare it to a wider version, if that existed. It looks like it could be a frame from a home movie.
Thank you SO much Loraine! I appreciate your kind words. There is no wider version, she stepped right in front of me as I was squatted down. So i literally just inched back a bit haha I'm right behind her. Yes, I wish I couldve shared this with her parents but it was such a moment I just wanted to capture🥰 Thanks again!
