This photo was taken in an old-growth forest near my home. The forest has a beautiful, untouched character, with fallen trees blanketed in thick moss, creating a sense of timeless wilderness. This squirrel is wild but somewhat accustomed to people, as locals often feed it.
After scouting a good vantage point, I placed a few nuts on a mossy trunk and waited. True to its independent spirit, the squirrel didn’t come right away, but eventually curiosity (and hunger) won.
Wildlife has been a great source of motivation for me to go out in nature recently.
Shot with Sigma 85mm f/1.4, Sony A7rV. Animal AF helped me nail focus.
