Not the most exciting photograph of an eagle ever taken but I'm proud of the image I got considering the circumstances. This was taken deep in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota. While paddling a canoe down a river, regularly having to stop and drag our canoes over beaver dams, I saw the eagle perched up ahead. I quickly took my camera out of my backpack while still floating down the river, adjusted my settings, composed, and took this image. I like the contrast of the eagle with it's head held high and a blue sky sitting in a dead mossy tree.
