My dogs at the California poppy fields. I took this one 20 years ago with my old Nikon D100, which was my first pro digital camera.

This is beautiful. Nice colors, contrast, and bokeh. Sorry your not getting the votes. Edit: It was full-sun that doesn't help, but I gave you 4.
Thank you for your kind words. This was definitely not a planned shot, so I couldn't prepare for "optimal lighting".
I just wish when people who give poor ratings will give a feedback, as to why?
I gave it two stars. My reasoning is that the composition seems a little off to me. Tough to put my finger on why, but one thing is angle of the shot in relation to the dogs. Also, there seems to be a lot of dead space that attracts my attention. What is that whitish blob above the dog on the right? Maybe it would have been better to crop the hills out of the image. Also, the lighting isn't great - I know it was mid-day, so there was no getting around it, but it creates a harshness that detracts from the image. Hope that helps.
It is harsh lighting, yes. Obviously it's a car or a camper back there. I must disagree about the cropping and angle, and I think that is part of what I liked about the photo. I can be very picky, but this time I was very nice, maybe I have a soft spot, for orange flowers and dogs. haha.
About the blob, yeah, not a camper, but large weeds, could have cloned them out. I just preferred to leave to photo as is. Yes, the poppy fields in California are impressive.
