Hot midday sun. I couldn't control the light, but I could control my position. I was spending the day learning to use the airplane detection mode in my new(ish) Nikon Z50ii. I was as wide as the 50-250mm kit lens would go, F4.5, 1/500 sec., ISO 100, a circular polarizing filter, and a little post work in Lightroom.

You didn't explain why there was a plane on top of a plane. Is that part real? Is the one on the bottom stationary, and its just being flown over while the one on top makes for the landing strip?
Edit: Also the blades are completely missing from the upper plane. This was shot at 1/500, which it would seem the blade would still be seen, but maybe it was removed. Interesting. My wife looked at the picture and asked the same above question. hehe. Hey could end up on lee and patrick radar.

Thank you for your comment. I should have explained the situation. The landing aircraft (upper of the two) is a sailplane (glider) and has no propeller. The two orange tabs on the wings are spoilers. They are disrupting the lift so that it will sink faster. This way, if he comes up short, he can put the spoilers down, and it would be similar to adding power in order to make it to the runway. The lower plane is the tow plane. It is off to the side of the landing glider, but still, is pretty close. The tow plane is hooked up to the front glider in a row of gliders waiting to be towed. This particular glider has two seats as it is used for training. Most gliders only have one seat. I hope this helps.
