Glas Éireann (The Green of Ireland)
Endlessly rolling and impossibly vibrant, this minimalist scene distills the very soul of Ireland into two pure elements: sky and earth. The lush, saturated green stretches to the horizon a living canvas brushed by centuries of rain and rooted in legend. Above it, cotton-soft clouds drift across a brilliant blue sky, completing the tricolor in spirit. Glas Éireann is not just a color it’s a feeling. A sense of peace, of place, of home. A quiet moment where the landscape speaks for itself, and its voice is unmistakably Irish.

Ironically, this shot wasn’t planned at all. I was having a rough morning nothing was going right. On a whim, I decided to walk to the next town for a cup of coffee, hoping the fresh air might reset the day. As I passed by a peaceful farm, this field of green caught my eye. It immediately made me think of the iconic Windows XP wallpaper but more real, more Irish, more alive. I shot it at f/11, ISO 50, 1/15 sec, embracing the stillness and simplicity. Sometimes, beauty finds you when you stop chasing it.

Normally I'd give this a 2, but because it reminds me of Windows XP, I gave it a 1 star.

Nice Steve, you wont get much more than a 1 or 2 with this type of image. They don't understand it here. Look up the Rhine 11 photograph by Andreas Gurskey. 3 for me

I love Rhine 11 very good at keeping it simple and having a nice layering system.

It does remind of Windows XP. But that should be a bonus. '3'

Who doesn't fondly remember Windows XP?

Anyone who is born after 2001 probably won't know it lol.
