I captured this image in 2019 at Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone. I had a few surprises, not the least of which is that the mist that usually hangs above the spring was blowing to the right, clearing the view I wanted to capture. The thin film of water on the crust reflected the stars, and using a dim constant light from the left, the edges of the crust lit up yellow, which makes the picture for me. A good friend of mine was shooting with me, and it was a great (and chilly!) night.

It's a stack of 25 images and took a bit of post-processing with Starry Landscape Stacker and Photoshop. Shot on a Canon EOS R and a Rokinon 14 mm EF lens. The blur in the middle of the sky is part of the Milky Way. I usually don't go for star trails, but I liked the the curves they formed in the sky and water.
